Namibia has a variety of fish and shark species along its coastline and there are peak fishing seasons for different types of fish and shark.
AQUANAUT FISHING DAY (Catch & Cook)
Sometimes fishing is just about savoring the moment and the benefits you get from being able to eat your catch right there on the beach. We created this trip that allows you to indulge in sampling what nature provides as your catch of the day, as over time, many have shown interest in sampling what our shoreline has to offer. It is rustic, and a full immersion in nature.
The goal of your fishing excursion is to bring in an edible catch that can be prepared for lunch.
Around lunchtime, fishing stops and food preparation begins. Enjoy a glass of white wine, while your guide prepares your meal, and let yourself be spoiled with the outdoor food opportunity.
Black mussel soup will be served as the appetizer. Your catch of the day will come next, which Shane creatively prepares in different ways depending on the species he is cooking for you to eat.
Our guide assists clients with bait presentation, casting, and coaching; therefore no prior fishing experience is required.
All equipment and *permits for a day’s fishing are provided and you will be supplied with refreshments and the catch of the day. Transfer from local (Swakopmund) accommodation is included. Minimum 2 anglers.
FISHING PERMITS
The Ministry of Fisheries and Marine Resources (MFMR) stipulates that each person who wants to fish along the Namibian coastline has to have a fishing permit issued by MFMR.
To take out a fishing permit on behalf of our clients, we require a scanned and certified copy of his/her passport or ID and their physical address in their country of residence.
